What Is It?

Oral surgery covers procedures such as tooth extraction and wisdom tooth removal. These are generally recommended when a tooth is too damaged, decayed, or poorly positioned to be saved, or when it's causing pain, infection, or crowding of surrounding teeth.

What Happens During Treatment

Aftercare

  • Some swelling and discomfort in the first 2-3 days is normal; a cold compress and any prescribed pain relief can help
  • Contact the clinic if bleeding doesn't settle, pain worsens after a few days, or you notice signs of infection such as fever or spreading swelling
